How To Deal with Low Diesel Engine Oil Pressure

Fault phenomenon: The diesel engine starts normally, but the oil pressure indication is low when running at high and low idle speeds, and the low oil pressure alarm occurs when running at low idle speeds.

Failure analysis: Factors causing low diesel engine oil pressure include: 1. Low oil level; 2. Oil filter clogged; 3. Oil grade too low and wrong viscosity; 4. Oil pump damaged; 5. Oil pressure gauge or The oil pressure sensor is damaged.

Troubleshooting methods: 1. Add engine oil to the standard oil level (the oil level is between the first and second scale lines of the oil dipstick); 2. Replace the oil filter; 3. Replace qualified engine oil according to standards; 4. Maintenance , Replace the oil pump; 5. Inspect and replace the oil pressure gauge or oil pressure sensor.
